When it come to making a decision about what laptop to get, there are plenty more choices than only what the stores offer you. Sure you can get them online as well. But have you ever looked into cheap refurbished laptops?  Many people are a bit hesitant about making a major purchase like a computer and going used or refurbished.  But should they be?

You most likely are not going to get a top of the line laptop with all of the added features and function abilities that a brand new computer may offer.  So if this is what you want or need, you’ll have to consider other options.  In fact, what you should do first is figure out exactly what you are going to be using the computer for and what functions you are going to need.  Some people won’t be able to consider a refurbished laptop and are going to have to spend thousands of dollars on something new.  On the other hand, if you are not picky and are just looking for a decent computer to do the basics, then hunting for a cheap refurbished computer may be exactly what you need.

The good news about refurbished computers is that a good majority of them, especially the ones you might find at an outlet store or other used dealers is that these computers most likely just came out of circulation.  As in the original buyer just didn’t need it and sold it within thirty days or less.  These used or cheap refurbished laptops go through a pretty extensive examination process to look for anything wrong.  So most times you may consider a refurbished computer as good as or almost as good as new.

It may be a fact as well that some of the refurbished laptops are second hand computers that were once used as demo or display items and now have been refurbished so they can sell.  Or they may just be trying to sell these laptops because they were overstocked.  In this case, some of these computers may have never been used.

When looking for cheap refurbished laptops, check out some stores that are well known for quality items.  In some cases they may even offer a warranty or discount on their refurbished computers.  Or at the very least, if you decide you do want it because it was not what you were looking for, they may allow a limited return policy as well.

The best advice is just to be picky and a bargain shopper.  Search your local area first, and then check the internet.  Write down all the specs and prices and go with the one who offers the best deal for the best price.
